Frangipani, Temple tree

Widely branched tree, planted in the tropics and subtropics for its highly scented blossoms, that are used in the perfume industry and for garlands. Unfortunately the perfume is less pronounced here than in the tropics.

In addition to the yellow-throated white flowers there are other coloured forms of Frangipani: red, pink, yellow.

The milky sap of the plant is poisonous. It sheds its leaves in dry season.
