Arabian coffee

Medium size shrub or small tree with horizontal branches and dark green, glossy foliage.

The small, white, jasmine-like flowers are highly scented. The fruit, at maturity red in colour, usually contains 2 seeds, the coffee ‘beans’. They lack the characteristic coffee aroma and flavour until they have been roasted. The culture of coffee plants is more successful at an altitude of 1000 m and more compared to Puerto de la Cruz.
