Those loyal tourists who love to spend their holidays in the north of the island were recently awarded with a Loyalty Award by the Northern tourism association C.I.T. Most not only spend their holiday in Puerto de la Cruz every year (or more than once a year), but also tend to stay in the same hotel every time they visit.
Puerto’s mayor Lola Padrón invited a group of loyal guests to the town hall in order to thank them. 17 Britons, 19 Germans, and two each from Sweden, France, Belgium and Switzerland accepted the invitation, together with the director of each hotel the guests are currently booked in. Some of the awarded guests have been returning to Tenerife for more than 35 years. This also is reflected by statistics which show that most tourists visiting the north tend to be repeaters. “Today and for always we offer you a second home and thank you for spending your holidays with us” said mayor Padrón. She also thanked the hotel directors as well as their hotels’ staff for their good and professional work that makes people want to come back over and over again. “We have been coming here for 20 years in a row” German Mrs. Mundt explained. “My mother and I always come here for Easter and only when we celebrated my mother’s 90 th birthday we came in November instead. It is so nice to leave cold Germany and come here, where it is warm. And everything is blossoming. Whenever we arrive at the Tigaiga hotel we feel like arriving at home.”
