Traveller’s tree

Ravenala madagascariensis, commonly known as Traveller’s Tree, is a species that belongs to the banana-family. The banana-like leaves are arranged like a fan, sheltering the great flower bracts with small white blooms and sky-blue seeds. The cup shaped leaf bases hold water for the thirsty travellers, hence the common name.
