Old man cactus

This upright growing cactus comes to us from Central Mexico. With age it can reach to 12 m in height. Its common name refers to the long grey ‘hair’ which are in fact an adaption to extreme dryness.

As a garden or pot plant it needs little to moderate water in summer, almost none in winter. Hibernation as indoor pot plant should be cool, dry and light. All members of the Cactus family generally are considered as endangered species (CITES).
