Iochroma cyaneum

The genus Iochroma shows about 30 different species.

The medium-sized, and rapidly growing shrubs can reach up to 3 m in height. The evergreen leaves appear in their slender branches, which are pointed, lanceolate, hairy and gray-green in color. The flowers, blue-purple or violet, appear in dense clusters. They bloom in summer and autumn, although they can bloom all year round.

Ichroma needs full sun or partial shade. The temperature should not be below 6ºC and must be protected from the wind.
