Hydrangea

A fairly hardy shrub, usually 1-1,5 m high, variable in flower colour from white over pink to blue depending on the cultivar. The true flowers are quite small, the conspicuous parts of the flower heads being petal-like bracts. The intense blue of certain cultivars is dependent on the acidity of the soil.

Wildly grown shrubs, that are particularly large due to the humidity, can be found in the Mercedes-forest.
