Gruyère cheese plant, Swiss cheese plant

An ornamental, vigorous climber with large, leathery, glossy green leaves, lobed and perforated with oblong holes.

The fruit somewhat resembles an elongated pineapple. It is highly aromatic and very sweet. While edible, it has the disadvantage that the sweetness persists in the mouth for many hours. The name ‘deliciosa’ arises from the fact that the fruit is otherwise delicious.
