From the end of April it is being created  with over 1,300 kilos of sand. This year, mainly brown and white sand has been collected from the National Park Cañadas to “paint” the image.

On June 2nd, the  “carpet” will be ready for the procession!

Again this Sunday, and inspite of the raindrops,  over 25
vehicles gathered at the entrance of the Tigaiga.

Organized with Club de Automóviles Antiguos de Tenerife, and after taking numerous photographs

 

the noise of engines and horns wandered through the most emblematic streets of Puerto de la Cruz causing the joy and admiration of the people. The roadmap indicated destination La Guancha, transporting our participants to the winery Viñatigo, a traditional family bodega which thanks to the incorporation of the most modern techniques today reaches the high profile that characterizes their wines.

And of course: we after tasting  the famous wines we returned to the hotel pleased  and very happy.

This year, Puerto de la Cruz has been awarded with two Blue Flags! The black sand beach Playa Jardín and the bay of San Telmo!

It is a distinction that is awarded by the Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE).

What exactly does it guarantee?  These are beaches and bays where you are informed about the natural areas, where you will fnd  trained lifeguards, first-rate water quality, places which are easily accessible and much more.

This pìcture can be seen in our Restaurante Tinguaro. It was painted by Ms. Wittkugel, a talented painter, teacher and pianist. You can discover in the picture the former operators swimmingpool: Enrique Talg Schulz (in a gray suit, right by the pool) and Enrique Talg Wyss, his son (front right wearing a black suit with hands on his back)

The Martianez swimming pool was the first swimming pool in Puerto de la Cruz. It was built almost at the end of today’s beach promenade adjacent to the Palm Avenue. The swimming pool was in operation from 1940 to 1963 and meeting point of many social venues.
