Ingredients:

• 150 g unsalted butter, softened
• 80 g dried figs (stems removed, finely chopped or blended)
• 1 tablespoon honey (optional, for extra sweetness)
• ½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
• A pinch of salt

Instructions:

1. Chop the figs very finely or pulse in a food processor until paste-like.
2. In a bowl, combine the softened butter, fig paste, honey (if using), cinnamon, and salt.
3. Mix well until smooth and fully combined.
4. Spoon into a small jar or ramekin and refrigerate for at least 1 hour to let the flavors meld.

Let it soften slightly before serving.

Our company has always been committed to the environment, which is why this solar energy project is part of the company philosophy. Our hotel’s environmental certifications, such as ISO 14001 and EMAS, underline the work that the Tigaiga has done in this regard.

These new photovoltaic solar panels will be placed on the roof, on 160 m2. The study and installation of the system was carried out by the company Dobontech, based in Tenerife, which works on the same guidelines as our hotel in terms of environmental commitment.

This year, the HolidayCheck Gold Award is presented to the HOTEL TIGAIGA which means: beeing for the 5th year among the HolidayCheck Award winners thanks to outstanding reviews in the five years 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2022. In the pandemic years 2021 and 2022 there was no regular award ceremony, so these years do not count in the evaluation for the Gold Awards. This year, 152 hotels worldwide (20 times in Spain) that delight their guests with a consistently high standard of quality receive this award, which serves as a particularly valuable guide for vacationers.

The HolidayCheck Award 2023 received by TIGAIGA SUITES for which strict rules apply to be considered:

1. the hotel must have received at least 50 reviews over a twelve-month period (December 1, 2021 to November 30, 2022)
2. The accommodations must also have been recommended by at least 90 percent of their guests.
3. Certainly, the HolidayCheck Award hotels must comply with the Code of Conduct. It is important to note that the Award is decided solely based on holidaymakers’ reviews. HolidayCheck has no influence on the Award. To ensure the authenticity of the reviews, they all pass through the verification system. In addition, HolidayCheck is working hard across the industry with the “Together against fake reviews” initiative to ensure that reviews on the Internet are authentic and trustworthy.

Every year thousands of Cory’s Shearwater chicks are rescued thanks to institutional programs and citizen collaboration. The reason for this action is none other than light pollution in coastal areas that contributes to their disorientation.

The most committed hotels of the Canary Islands to the environment and the biodiversity that surrounds us join this initiative to protect the marine ecosystem of our islands and, ultimately, of our planet.

The Cory’s Shearwater is the most abundant seabird in the Canary Islands. It lives on the open seas and it only comes to the coast to breed in spring. During October and November, many Cory’s shearwater broods, upon leaving the nests, on their first flight looking for the sea, are disoriented by the lights of the coastal developments. These birds, dazzled and on the ground, are not able to fly off on their own. In this situation they are vulnerable to being run over or being attacked.
How do we protect it?
We instruct our staff to reduce lights, assist them, and to facilitate their
recovery for them to reach the sea.

We can all contribute to their preservation!

I am a tourist and I travel to discover

bathe in its beaches of volcanic sand,

learn about its culture, live its traditions,

taste its wines, fruit and food, knowing that by doing so

The greatest compliment for us is that our guests come back to Tenerife, year after year, and spend valuable holidays here at the Tigaiga. We are returning to normal in full strides. With us the situation is more and more relaxed and with our nice weather the guests naturally enjoy their stay in the open air; for lounging by the pool, in the garden or at mealtimes while eating.

State of the art statistics (Oct. 2021) provided by the Canary Islands Ministry of Health:

• By September 29, 2021, 3,116,392 vaccine doses had been administered in the Canary Islands
• From now on people in old people’s homes will also be vaccinated with a third dose.
• A total of 1,619,387 people have completed the vaccination (2 doses or Janssen, with one), so 82.59% of the population are immunized against COVID-19.
