The details of this new route follow just weeks after the carrier began taking bookings for a new link to Alicante, also from London Gatwick, which will commence in late March 2013. BA plans to operate a five times weekly service on the new Tenerife route from March 31, 2013, competing directly with easyJet, Monarch Airlines, Norwegian, Thomas Cook Airlines and Thomson Airways.

We appreciate the importance of your holiday and the impact that the closure of the airspace has on your plans, and we understand that some of our clients may wish to revise their travel plans.

The following policy is currently in place: clients who wish to revise their travel plans are able to amend to an alternative travel date without incurring normal administration fees. Any difference in price will be payable, although if the alternative holiday is cheaper than the original, then the difference in price will be refunded. Alternatively customers can cancel free of charge if their flight has been confirmed as cancelled by the airline.

Customers who have booked through a travel agency can contact their travel agent.
