The TUI Global Hotel Award recognises hotels that stand out for outstanding guest satisfaction across TUI’s international portfolio. The Top Hotel award from schauinsland-reisen also highlights quality and the positive holiday experiences of guests. Receiving both awards almost at the same time makes this week particularly special for us. Two different awards from two major tourism companies, yet both have something very important in common: the satisfaction and appreciation of our guests.

Behind these ratings are much more than numbers. There are guests discovering the Tigaiga for the first time, many others returning year after year, countless shared moments and, of course, our entire team, taking care of the little details every day with dedication and enthusiasm.

For us as a family-run hotel, these awards are also a wonderful motivation to remain true to the philosophy that has guided us for so many years: personal hospitality, genuine warmth, quality and continuous improvement.

The system consists of a machine for bio-waste of food origin installed at the hotel, with the capacity to treat 17 tonnes of bio-waste a year, which will produce 2 tonnes of good quality compost to be used in the landscaped areas.

This is the third time we have visited the Florasol and it only gets better! Under new management this last year it now has better reception service and much improved wifi in all rooms. The apartments are roomy with generous private balconies complete with loungers and dining table and chairs, and new flatscreen tvs with hdmi input option. The pool is small but quite big enough for a cooling dip and has more loungers around it as well as pretty gardens. The location is a pleasant fifteen minute walk (downhill) to the busy town centre shops and restaurants- you can do much of it through Tauro Park if you check a map.

When we come in the winter, the gated hotel is largely populated with retired sun-seeking German couples who are very easy company. No noisy children or boisterous types. It is perfectly possible to accommodate a family of four comfortably but it works very well for older people and I would hope it continues to fill this particular niche now the apartments are being upgraded this year. Improved shower and kitchen facilities address the two main areas of weakness in the past and the show apartment we saw was a sensible enhancement of the available space with a new wet room rain shower and a four ring halogen hob in the kitchen.

Although reception is only open in the morning, the new management is the nearby Hotel Tigaiga and we checked in there when we arrived in the afternoon. All the staff are highly competent, poly lingual and very helpful as are the restaurant staff present for the excellent breakfasts they offer. Easy parking is possible just outside the apartments.
