With this update, each plant profile can be accessed much faster and updated directly, keeping all information fresh and alive – just like our garden itself.

For us, this is more than a technical improvement. It’s another way of connecting the values we care most about – nature, hospitality, and sustainability – and sharing them with everyone who feels part of the Tigaiga family.

I can’t be more grateful !

Along with me, Tigaiga clients who are already part of the history of this emblematic hotel and who from today also have their palm tree in this garden.

PS: The Talg tradition uses to put a coin every time a palm tree is planted, in an establishment where there are more palm trees than beds.

I have posted this in appreciation and today, I couldn’t stop thinking of someone who really liked plants.

Royal Palm 1 – Doña Maria has been a loyal Tigaiga guest over 25 times and even twice – in Tigaiga Suites – during the Covid period!

Royal Palm 2 – Don Juan Carlos Lorenzo, always supporting Tigaiga for over 25 years and, among other things, external consultant in quality and environmental management.

Royal Palm 3 – Señores Amrhein-Buss, on behalf of many, dear loyal clients, as the first guests at the Tigaiga reopening.

This month the beautiful flowers can be admired directly at the hotel entrance !

To bloom, the “Queen of the Night” plant must be at least 5 years old. The individual flowers have a lifetime of only a few hours. Then only a dried buds remains. Other buds may open only during the next weeks. Only one day before the opening you can see which bud will flower!

Why does the “Queen of the Night” bloom at this unusual hour? The plant grows in Mexico and in the Caribbean in dry forests, marked very high daily temperatures. Under these conditions with delicate, large flowers the plant would lose more water (due to high evaporation) than available in this dry habitat.

A garden includes a constant change, a “final state” is never achieved – everybody knows. As good soil is the foundation of a healthy garden we have started a pilot project nurturing our soil so that our garden turns our visitors “green” with admiration.
