We are happy to inform you that he rules on testing are to be eased for people travelling to England, the government has announced. Under the new rules:

  • From 04:00 GMT on Friday 7 January, people who are fully vaccinated and those aged under-18 will no longer need to take a test two days before travelling to England from countries outside the UK and the Common Travel Area. On arrival, they will have to take a PCR test but they will no longer have to self-isolate while awaiting the result
  • From 04:00 GMT on Sunday 9 January they will only have to take a lateral flow test instead of a PCR test on day two. But this test must be bought from a private test provider – free NHS tests are not allowed
  • Unvaccinated passengers will need to continue to take a pre-departure test, PCR tests on day two and day eight, and self-isolate for 10 days

We are returning to normal in full strides. With us the situation is more and more relaxed and with our nice weather the guests naturally enjoy their stay in the open air; for lounging by the pool, in the garden or at mealtimes while eating.

State of the art statistics (Oct. 2021) provided by the Canary Islands Ministry of Health:

  • By September 29, 2021, 3,116,392 vaccine doses had been administered in the Canary Islands
  • From now on people in old people’s homes will also be vaccinated with a third dose.
  • A total of 1,619,387 people have completed the vaccination (2 doses or Janssen, with one), so 82.59% of the population are immunized against COVID-19.

The Tourism Ministry has clarified that one must not knowingly be aware of having Covid-19 before arrival. This is the only condition that will be followed by the ministry. A representative from Canary Islands Tourism and AXA Insurance has signed the agreement regarding the Atlantic archipelago’s latest decision.
